And here's a post of everything spring! Since I love spring, here are some spring textures and animation of falling spring blossom petals and a brief tutorial on how to use it. Enjoy!

Thanks for the tutorial as well. I never knew that animated images would open up with all of its frames in ImageReady. ^-^;;

To make those falling petals, you might need one of those motion designer programs that allow you to set value for wind and gravity to make the whole image look really realistic.

But it's still possible to make a simple petal gif with imageready. Just to show you an example if you're curious. Here's something I just tried for fun. Basically I used stock images of petals. Cut out one petal and set as a new layer, duplicate and change directions. Lay out your petals in the direction you want it to flow, and hide a few layers as you move along.

and very soon you get something like this: (It looks slightly strange when transparent. Add it to an image and you get:


Not as realistic as gifs created through those special motion programs, but I think it resembles a nice slow breeze (you can always make it faster if you want). And on the plus side, even though this image is larger than normal icon size, its only about 16kb or so.

Try checking the visibility of the layers. Maybe the layers are hidden.

Are you a GIMP user? If you are, the steps might be slightly different. I can show you how to do it if you wish. :)
